Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

*Latest reply to this topic submitted by inkster on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 02:34. Moved by admin. Without a doubt, this game got my heart racing especially the scene where you have to escape the hotel in Innsmouth. If i was to score the game out of 10 i would give it a resounding 8/10. The gameplay is pretty interesting as it isnt a typical 'pick up mega weapon' kill all monsters. It is a shame that the company went bust so there will not be a sequel. http://www.callofcthulhu.com/ Another interesting game, although horror themed is not scary is vampire masquerade bloodlines. In this you take on the role of a vampire, you can select what type of vampire you are and from what sect, each type gives you different bonuses and drawbacks. Although this game is a few years old, it is certainly well worth a look at for the horror fan. Out of 10 i would rate this 7/10 http://www.planetvampire.com/bloodlines/

Call of Cthulhu

I loved that game and have played it a few times. As you say, Jon, the escape from the hotel was very frightening - certainly as close as I ever want to come to being chased by a gang of homicidal fish men.

re: F.E.A.R.

Yes, I've played that one. I liked it a lot, though I haven't played the sequel (which I've recently seen at a very nice price in the 2nd hand racks at Game Stop) One to buy, methinks.

Amnesia

"Amnesia" is the creepiest game ever! Your character has no idea who or where he is. You are overcome with vertigo if in the dark too long but you can't stay in light or the thing that is chasing you might find you. Worst thing is that you can't fight the damned thing but have to hide from it so you are in a constant state of panic and always keeping a hiding spot nearby. Creepy!

Console or Computer?

Sounds like fun. Is that available on console or only computer? I recently picked up a copy of Project Zero (Fatal Frame in the US) for XBox. I've heard a lot of good things about that one.
