i see that we have VERY similar tastes in podcasts PG Holyfield Murder at Avedon Hill Chris Lester's Metamor City Of course the FDO and his many works Escape Pod Psuedo Pod Podcastle Varient Frequencies (rick springer, et. al.) anything matt wallace puts out there Wormwood series Tee Morris' podcasts (haven't started listening to the billibub seires yet) Chasing the Bard Manic mondays (Fun Funny and down right FUN) SciFi Surplus other science and npr/pri and nat'l geographic and math podcasts, as well as a few other scifi/horror/fantasy podcastsTreed - Similar indeed!
I hear so many good things about Matt Wallace but have not tried his stuff yet or Chasing the bard. After hearing Pip Ballentine on Metamor City's last episode I am going to have to check out the Bard. She was great!Pip
she does voices for tee morris and pg holfield (MaAH is my favorite podcast right now, my daughter and i did the SSF for episode 21) & for others, and she has been involved in other projects as well. she has new book coming out in august, a sequel to chasing the bard, sounds interesting, a melding of the fey and the digital. if you like bennett, you love matt wallace. checkout the NextFix. also, varient frequences and the failed city monologues. also check out phill rossi and his Cresent, the absolute best scifi horror story i have EVER heard or read. i started listening to this one right after he finished the story (october of '07). he is going to put a new pod in the cresent universe called the vault, a collection of stories, i got his new promo for it in his feed last night wife thinks i spend to much time in the podoshere, after writing this comment, i think she maybe right....lolThanks Treed
It does make you think when you look at all the podcasts.... I am getting 16hrs a week on the bike at the mo so there is plenty of time to listen but I will have to cut back after that! Crescent - I agree that is some scary stuff, I listened to that last month . Very well done. I have also just Listened to Brave Men Run on PG Holyfields recommendation and loved it to bits, and am currently liking almost as much Shadow Magic. I will dive into Matt Wallace and Chasing the Bard after that. Tee Morris - I enjoyed Billibub but have not checked out Morevi. Another for the to do list! Thanks for the tips. :-)podcasters
brave men run was cool, i understand he is gonna put put another one in the near future shadow magic? new one on me, gonna have to try that one black shadow has gotten popular, sort of a the dark night meets dark magic, i got annoyed with the authors delivery, story is interesting though i have the billibub badings stuff, just haven't started them yetPodcasts
Yeah I look forward to another Sovereign Era book. I tried Black Shadow because I knew Steve Saylor through TWIT he was Leo Laportes intern. I must admit though I gave up after 2 or 3 episodes as his delivery grated on me. Sorry Steve! I found Shadow Magic on podiobooks. It is consistently one of the highest rated books. I really enjoyed it, its aimed at young adults but works for old folk too. It makes my top 10 anyway. I finally heard the Phil Rossi promo on Sigler. That sounds like it is going to be pretty disturbing. Looking forward to that.Notes from the vault pomo

NPR wait wait don't tell me - great radio news quiz show, with guest celebrities and politicians, intelligent and topical humor. slightly liberal bent. the onion radio news - short and sweet spoof news show podCastle - excellent fantasy short stories psuedopod - gotta love good old lovecraftian horror the skeptics' guide to the universe - excellent panel of scientists and skeptics poking holes in psuedo-science, conspiracy theories, and UFO sightings across the world. skeptoid - short format skeptical review of popular misconceptions soccergirl, incorporated - smart and skeptical hotness, she's got boobs subgenius hour of slack - fnord completely fnord harmless fnord fun fnordNIght Gallery Style
Thank you. Everyone keeps comparing H.o.M. to Twilight Zone but the VERY first time I heard it my first thought was Night Gallery. I thought I was the only person who a.) remembered that show, b.) watched that show, and c.) thought H.o.M. harkened back to it in a very favorable way. I loved Night Gallery and it seriously freaked me out.Serling
I've actually only seen a few Night Galleries on a DVD box set I rented. I love anything with Rod Serling hosting. In the Twilight Zone, his being there in the scene, but just slightly off to the edge of the action, that was the best thing ever. I also really liked the Alfred Hitchcock Presents I've seen. But again, that's not many; I don't think we got these shows in Britain in the seventies. Or if we did, my parents didn't watch them. I do remember one I saw late one night, perhaps on Channel Four, about a guy who was presumed dead in a hospital, but he wasn't, and the whole thing was form his point of view. Really scared me. Premature burial and all that. Brrrrr.I am going to have to check out some of these
I must confess to not having heard of about half of these... I will have to broaden my horizons. ;-)i used to listen to "Air out My Shorts"
started listening to it not long after it started, got annoyed with it, but you are right about the Word Whore, one of, if not THE, sexist voice in the podosphere, she has read stories for escapepod and i think psuedopod, as well as others. (so has that other person) every now and then i give it another try, but end up getting annoyed again.Feeds on my iPod
