U&F 21 Progress

OK, so by now the episode is due and a few of you are probably checking in here to see if there's any sign of it. I've been working on the text for ages and now the first draft is finally done. It's taken a long time to write because it's very difficult material and there's a lot of it. I don't think it's going to need a great deal of work because I edited as I went (sometimes I just hammer out pages in a stream-of-consciousness, other times I go slowly - this time I went slowly). The text is twice the page-count of a usual episode, so Episode 21 should be more-or-less about an hour in length. I'm going to do the final editing tomorrow and then begin recording.

If I'm lucky I'll get a first audio draft of the whole thing done. Then it's editing and re-takes for a couple of days, then I'll post. So it's looking like a weekend delivery. I can't say when for sure, it depends on the day job and all the other variables that strew our paths with obstructions and place spanners in our works.

I apologise for the delay. But like the song says, you can't hurry love. On the up side, I think the wait will be worth it: it's a killer episode. I thank you for your patience :-)

"The End is Nigh" T-Shirt

In response to some recent requests for a U&F t-shirt, I've whipped this at the Zazzle store. So now you don't need a sandwich board to announce the news, you can just buy one of these babies. If you click on the Zazzle merchandise window in the panel to the right, it'll take you to my store. You can then buy it in whatever size and on whatever apparel you want. Lovely.

Underwood and Flinch - Episode 19

Episode 19. We return to La Reina de Corazones, where Keith is trying to win over a local celebrity with some ‘British Tapas’. “Huevos! Huevos!”

The episode also features 'Sometimes' news and Q&A.

Episode 19. Vintage Pop Music Reference

Episode 19 contains a reference to Adam Ant and "Stand and Deliver". This may leave a lot of our younger listeners scratching their heads in bewilderment, and so to save you the Wickipedia search, here's Mr Ant, asking you to stand and deliver in 1981.

New Paul Warren Pics and Progress on Episode 19

Paul Warren has posted some great new art in the User Art Gallery, including the portrait of his Lordship below. Many thanks for sharing your vision(s), Paul Smile

In other news, Episode 19 is now pretty much written and I will begin recording tomorrow. I have a head cold and I'm hoping it will lift, but if it doesn't, I'll still record anyway. You'll have to forgive the slightly adenoidal tones ;-)

Underwood and Flinch - Episode 18

Episode 18: Underwood learns a little about David and Lydia ... And David learns a lot about Underwood.

18 Almost Ready

Just a quick note to say that episode 18 of Underwood and Flinch is almost ready. I have one more scene to edit-down and I need to do the music and bumpers and it'll be done. There'll be no chit-chat on this one; I'm keeping it simple so I can post it faster. Right now, I'm estimating a length of about 35 - 40 minutes long, which is a nice length, I think. Not too long, not too short, just right. Watch this space (no black and white image this time because the finished image is black and white anyway) Smile

Finally, Underwood and Flinch Episode 17 Arrives

After one month and more work than any episode to date (due in part, but not wholly, to the bonus content) Underwood and Flinch Episode 17 is finally live.

The U&F content is thirty minutes long, but the bonus material adds another ten minutes of listening time for those who want it - and if you enjoy the 'Sometimes' podcast (which I certainly do) you won't want to do that Smile

Episode 17: David, Lydia and Miguel finally get to meet their master.

Episode 17 is coming along nicely, I've got about 8 minutes of sound file edited so far. However, there's still a lot to do: the unedited recording is still huge (though it will boil down to about twenty minutes when it's all done) and there are going to be hundreds of re-takes, especially with Underwood's lines. He's a slippery one to nail down: posh, cruel and dominant, and yet also amicable, playful and generally up for a wheeze. I have to walk around the room 'being' him a lot to get the right vibe ... Just so long as I keep him in the house and don't go out of the house in-character Smile
